I just had to put this on the blog, me talking to Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat. We had a long conversation about the Shabbat issue and his decision to open a municipal parking lot on Saturdays to ease visitor traffic around the old city. The Haredim did not like it and rioted last Saturday. They should try parking near the Old City on Shabbat, its a nightmare.... I just hope that he does not bend to the pressure.
